Alyssa holds a Master degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, a second Master degree in Rehabilitation Administration and Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership.
For the past 25 years, she has worked with vast and diverse group of people in the field of rehabilitation and disabilities, healthcare and long-term care. She enjoys working with business leaders, college students, baby boomers, older adults and caregivers and healthcare professionals.
Her areas of focus are life transition, personal and professional burn out, grief and loss, health and death anxiety, interpersonal relationships, difficult health care decisions, academics issues, career and job related conflict, self-criticism and self-esteem, anger, fear, shame, guilt, forgiveness, spiritual and faith issues.
Alyssa strives to create a nonjudgmental, compassionate and supportive environment for each individual to help reach their unique goals. Her approach is rooted in empathy and providing a safe and where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings, navigate their journey to overall wellness and develop the skills and tools they need to heal, grow, thrive, and restore joy, resilience and peace.
She primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Depending on individuals’ specific needs, she also likes to utilize other evidence based techniques to fit each individual client.
