Hello, I am Emmy (she/her). I am a counseling intern, earning my Master of Clinical Social Work degree. I take a holistic approach to my work, pulling from an educational background in Psychology, Integrative Medicine, Nutrition and Health Coaching, energy work, meditation and mindfulness practices, and Philosophy. My work history includes patient coordination, certified health coaching, and mentoring. My prior counseling experience was as a therapeutic group counselor and individual substance abuse counselor at an intensive inpatient recovery center for teens experiencing mental health and substance abuse challenges.
I approach my clients with an open, curious, and creative mind, seeking to collaborate with them to find the right approaches and tools for them. Some of the psychological philosophies and tools I pull from are narrative reframing, somatic grounding and emotional release, mindfulness for building self-awareness and self-regulation, CBT and DBT, and Parts work. You will find my style to be easy going, conversational, and educational.
My areas of specialization are Complex PTSD and trauma, later diagnosed neurodivergence, LGBTQ+, gender identity exploration, consensual/ethical non-monogamy, and relational conflict resolution. I am open to working with individuals over the age of 12 years, couples, and small family or relationship units. I would be honored to support you in your journey of healing, exploration, repair, and growth.
