Have you and your partner reached the point where you believe you may need some help to resolve differences? Perhaps you often feel dismissed, discounted, or misunderstood. Your marriage may have been destabilized by you or your partner’s infidelity. Acts of betrayal can destroy trust that is the foundation of a relationship. If you both feel stuck, and would like to move past issues that you argue about over and over again, I may be able to help you. Conversely, your relationship may have reached a point of so much emotional distance that either one or both of you no longer feel very invested in it. That can happen when issues that really need to be discussed are avoided instead. I can help you both start the conversation again and show you how you can work through the issues with respect, moving you into greater intimacy.
Are you an adult child of parents with whom you have had a rupture? Perhaps you are parents of an adult child who cut off the relationship or who created emotional distance over some behavior. I see families who would like to restore a cordial, loving relationship with all parties.
I work with couples, families and individuals to foster connection and self-knowledge. I teach skills that can improve the quality of communication to people in relationship. I work primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model, but incorporate aspects of Relational Life Therapy (RLT), attachment, family systems theory, and discoveries of John Gottman, among other therapies orientations, in my practice. I do inner child work with individuals who want to work through a rough patch, deficits from childhood that manifest as
lingering problems, or to talk about issues that keep them from functioning at their greatest capacity.
I completed a master’s degree with a focus upon marriage, family, and community-based counseling at California State University Northridge. Shortly afterwards, I moved to Oregon to enjoy hiking, wildlife, rain, and shorter commutes. I completed a nursing degree in Oregon and practiced as a psychiatric RN. Along the
way, I acquired specialized knowledge of dementia, medical and medication issues, drug and alcohol
addiction, domestic violence, and depression. I hope that I can help you reach a place of greater peace in your life.
