Hey there, I’m Dr Katherine, an Oregon licensed naturopathic doctor specializing in mental health. I’ve been in the integrative health space since around 2011, when I studied and practiced clinical herbal medicine, obtaining my Master of Science in Herbal Medicine from Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health). In 2019 I completed my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine, including two years of inter-professional mental-health focused internship.
Today, I’m focused on helping adults who are experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADD/ADHD, chronic fatigue in addition to providing adult autism assessments as part of our ever-growing assessment team.
I’m here to collaborate with you. My job is to bring my expertise and a wide array of treatment options: medication, nutrition, supplements, herbal medicines, homeopathy, hydrotherapy to name a few. Meanwhile I also want you to understand not only the available options, but why it is that your body and mind are doing what they’re doing. The more you know the better you’ll likely do.
While I do have expertise about physiology and treatment, you’re the expert in you! You know your goals and what will or won’t work for your lifestyle.
My goal for our work together is that you have resolution to your symptoms, and that, along the way, you feel safe, seen, and heard. It’s my honor to be part of your healthcare team!

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, in Oregon
Teletherapy and in-person
I like to help people connect with, strengthen, and expand their authentic self. I work with clients to increase awareness of the familial and cultural beliefs they may have unconsciously absorbed, but which may not serve them well now. I especially enjoy facilitating groups, and working with couples and families to dissolve misunderstandings and increase intimacy. We have entered a period of expanding consciousness requiring changes that provoke a lot of anxiety for people. I like to amplify creativity, joy, and humor wherever possible.
I work primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model, but incorporate aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), attachment, family systems theory, and discoveries of John Gottman, among other therapeutic orientations, in my practice. I completed a master’s degree with a focus upon marriage and family, and community-based counseling at California State University Northridge. Shortly afterwards, I moved to Oregon to enjoy hiking, wildlife, rain, and shorter commutes. I completed a nursing degree in Oregon and practiced as a psychiatric RN. Along the way, I acquired specialized knowledge of trauma, dementia, medical and medication issues, drug and alcohol addiction, domestic violence, and depression. When not working, I enjoy singing and playing music with friends at jams.

Deciding to go to therapy is a brave and vulnerable decision. My goal is to provide a safe collaborative space to provide you with support. I believe that our need to belong and have healthy relationships is fundamental to the human experience. Often times we do not feel seen or valued for who we are or what we have gone through. My goal is to guide people to explore their authentic selves. Through a safe and transparent therapeutic relationship, we can unpack personal experiences and understand how they shape the present.
I focus on creating a healing space where you won’t be judged as we collaborate to help you learn to be present and be your authentic self. Let’s identify and create a life of growth and opportunity.
Please reach out when you are ready to do this together.

Dana Fears
My ideal client is very open to the change process and embodies a deep-lived grief from a complicated life background. They may be survivors of childhood trauma, living with complex grief from the loss of a significant attachment figure in their life, whether that is a literal or figurative loss or they may struggle with codependence or a disability (including but not limited to blindness, or autoimmune concerns, neurological issues, or Bipolar disorder), and they also be striving to improve and rebuild their lives.
Generally, I see many professional people who have put these areas of their lives on hold and embody some kind of unused healing skill set, but not always. I work primarily with the wounded healer and the savior complex archetypes— I believe these are dynamic concepts with your own life force sovereign to them only and nothing that happened to you in the past can claim your life. I came to this work because of my own recovery from bullying, domestic violence, cancer, drug abuse, and mental health and physical health issues, as well as having an autistic parent. It is from the shadow element of these realities that I am effective as a therapist. I embody deep alchemy and believe I can channel it effectively for my clients.
Any terrible or traumatic thing may have happened to you as a child or teen, and it is still my belief that it’s not too late to heal and become your true self. In my opinion, the best people are often wounded, sometimes destroyed but can regain ground in the therapy room and rise from what has always been into where they have always wanted to go.
I use a creative, holistic and deeply attuned approach— with the following approaches: Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed, Strengths-Based, Solution-Focused, Motivational Enhancement, Informal Parts Work, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy (NT), Relational and Reality therapy, Attachment Theory, Family Systems, Psychodynamic and Interpersonal therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Embodiment Therapy, and BrainSpotting.
There is sacred power I have tapped into with these approaches, and I am confident that we can surpass your current narrative together reaching a state of true and intentional empowerment. I see myself as a guide, educator and facilitator of change. I bring a focus on spirit to my work with clients. Through the process of developing a therapeutic relationship with me, clients come to understand themselves “in relationship” from childhood to current.
